Spike Lee and his crew spent a day filming a special project for Lids in our hometown of Indianapolis, IN this week! The documentary style video talks about our influence in headwear culture and explains how we are transforming the city of Indianapolis into CapTown, USA. Spike Lee spent the day interacting with Lids fans and employees to learn how we spread the hat love to all of you!
The crew spent the morning touring our distribution center, making custom hats and learning the ins and outs of how product is processed for our customers. We made our way to the new Lids headquarters, where Spike got to interact one-on-one with the Lids staff. Later, Spike and his crew headed downtown to talk sports fandom and streetwear fashion with customers at our Lids store in Circle Centre Mall.
Spike Lee signed and gave away his new custom hats to eager fans while interviewing people about their favorite teams. Pacers super fan, Matt Asen, who is well known for his courtside signs and yellow hardhat was thrilled to talk with Spike Lee, showing him vintage signs that read phrases like “Sorry Spike” and “Spike’s got fame, but Reggie’s got game.”
