Meet DOPE. They’ve been in the game for a while and always bring strong Exclusive styles to LIDS. We are very happy to introduce you to their culture and what they stand for.
We also had a chance to sit down with Matte Fields, the owner of DOPE. Here is a live look into the DOPE scene.
LIDS: If you could describe DOPE in 1 sentence, what would it be?
Matte Fields: How about an acronym? I just came up with this one. D.R.E.A.M. Dope rules everything around me.
L: What inspired you to create the brand that is DOPE?
MF: The streetwear niche aligned with my interests as it was one part fashion one part skate one part hip hop. That’s what drew me in.
Also a quick story from Dope’s first point of inspiration: I saw Jay-Z rocking a Crooks tee and I loved the design. Three years later Jay was rocking a Dope shirt.
L: What sets these hats apart from anything else that is on shelves?
MF: One the quality is killing most headwear companies, two nobody can compete with the crazy designs we put out.
L: What are your dreams and goals for the brand?
MF: I want to see Dope continue to innovate in the headwear category and beyond along with maintaining healthy but not overly aggressive growth.
L: If you could say one thing to the fans of your hats, what would it be?
MF: Dope is for anyone that’s puts 100% into whatever they do. I know that’s you so keep it up because hard work eventually pays off.
