Celebrating NFL 100

A century has passed since the NFL first came into existence – and as we kick-off this 100th season of professional football we look back at all that has come before.  Everything that helped establish this as one of the greatest games in the world.

NFL 100 is all about remembering the past while also celebrating the present.  And nowhere is more representative of this melding of eras than Lids.

New Era NFL Sideline Collection

In what has become a new tradition, New Era has released multiple versions of their official NFL Sideline Collection.  Like last season, each team will have different caps for their home and road games.  Each franchise will have a similar road cap that comes in the teams colors with the primary logo on the front.  The home versions are a different story – they will pay tribute to the era in which each team entered into the league.

Teams that were established in the 20s have one style, while those from the 40s will have another.  The same goes for those that entered in the 50s, 60s, 70s and 90s.  See the full lineup in the video below.

Each cap is available in 59FIFTY fitted, 39THIRTY stretch-fit, 9FIFTY snapback and visor.  You can also find alternate colorways of most teams.

Retro Sideline Collection

While the official sideline collection celebrates each team’s storied history, the Lids Exclusive Retro Sideline collection pays tribute to some of the most iconic sideline styles from the past.

Everyone remembers a die-hard NFL fan in their life sporting one of these classic looks from yesteryear including the ’77 Stripe trucker cap and the Sharktooth and Paintbrush caps from the 90s.

These throwback New Era 9FIFTY snapback caps are available with official team logos or retro logo variations.

NFL Logo Elements 2.0

Last year Lids and New Era partnered to create something revolutionary for the NFL.  For the first time ever, we were able to deconstruct each team’s primary logo and strip away everything but the most relevant elements of each franchise. This bold look took the sports world by storm – and we’re about to do it again.

Logo elements 2.0 revisits many of these looks but adds a new twist.  Now presented as black-on-black, each team cap will feature the full logo sewn out in black thread with only the iconic elements popping out in raised team colors. It’s a striking look in a classic style available in 59FIFTY and 39THIRTY silhouettes.
